Nocturnal will not be returning in 2026.

Descend into the darkness on the world’s steepest railway and see the rainforest come to life.- Meander beneath a canopy of light trees, discover the ancient language of the wood wide web, and spot a Lyrebird soaking up the moonlight.
- Glide silently between cliff tops on the iconic Skyway and Cableway and see the Three Sisters lit up against the darkness of the Blue Mountains National Park.
- Kids can go on their own Nocturnal quest to discover the Gundungurra Story of Creation! (The child ticket includes a special activity sheet, Nocturnal buff and pen).
- Your Nocturnal pass includes one ride in and out of the valley on the Railway and/or Cableway, and a return trip on the Skyway.
- Please note - this experience involves some walking and steps and is dark in places along the boardwalk. There are limited seats located throughout our site and on the rides. See more information about accessibility.

Frequently asked questions
Yes! Your Nocturnal Pass gives you one trip in and out of the rainforest on the Railway and/or the Cableway, and one return trip on the Skyway. (It does not include unlimited rides like our Day Pass).
The Nocturnal Pass includes parking on site at Scenic World. All guests in the vehicle must have the on-site Nocturnal ticket (not Nocturnal Saver).
The Nocturnal Saver Pass DOES NOT include parking at Scenic World. You park elsewhere or catch public transport to Katoomba, then jump on the complimentary shuttle bus to bring you to and from Scenic World.
We recommend allowing 90 minutes for your Nocturnal experience.
Please note your session time is your ride time - please allow ample time before to park and check-in.
Why not make a night of it? Arrive earlier to enjoy marshmallow roasting at the fire pits, mulled wine or dinner!
No, the Nocturnal Pass is separate to the Unlimited Discovery Pass, and the Unlimited Pass does not include the Nocturnal event on the day. You can upgrade on the day of your visit at the ticket box if there are Nocturnal tickets available.
Please make sure you buy your Nocturnal ticket in advance to avoid disappointment. Tickets are likely to sell out fast and in advance!
