Date night in the Blue Mountains

Stuck for date night ideas? We’ve got you covered with some of our favourite venues in the Upper Mountains.

Mesa Barrio, Lawson

With a cool yet causal vibe, you would expect Mesa Barrio to be located in the trendy inner city not the quiet mid mountain township of Lawson. The Mesa menu offers a selection of Mediterranean-style share plates that are created with locally sourced and sustainable ingredients. Not to mention the delicious cocktail list including the perfectly named ‘Date Night’. Bookings are advised.

Station Bar + Woodfired Pizza, Katoomba

Drool worthy pizza, craft beer and live local music - Station Bar provides all the making for the perfect chilled date night. Relax in the sunny beer garden by day and snuggle up inside a booth by night. You’ll see why Station Bar is a Scenic World team favourite as soon as you step inside.

Sanwiye Korean Restaurant, Katoomba

One of Katoomba best kept secrets, Sanwiye offers great quality meals and large serves at a reasonable price. The friendly staff are always happy to offer meal suggestions and the cosy, themed interior makes you feel like you’re travelling through South Korea. And as a bonus, it’s BYO!

Leura Garage, Leura

Just off the famous Leura mall, this re-vamped mechanic has been a local favourite from the very beginning. The extensive menu consists of share items, mains and woodfired pizzas so there is something for everyone! The wine list hosts a bevy of favourites from vineyard in the NSW Central West, with a few curated drops from Europe. Pop in for lunch or dinner any day of the week.

Fumo, Blackheath

If you’re looking to make an impression then Fumo is for you. Located in the former Vulcan's restaurant space, it is run by some of the same team from that much loved Blackheath icon. Now receiving rave reviews of its own – and a hat in the 2019 Good Food Guide – it is renowned for inventive, Asian inspired flavours and intimate dining atmosphere. Hot tip - the Insta-worthy desserts are leaving some room for! Book ahead to enjoy.
