The Blue Mountains: Couples’ Cosy Escape Edition
Winter is almost over for another year. While some may celebrate the conclusion of the cooler months we are trying to savour the remaining crisp sunny days and cool nights by the fire. The Blue Mountains offers the ultimate in relaxation and is the perfect weekend destination for Sydneysiders looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
To save you the guess work we’ve picked our favourite places for couples to experience the Blue Mountains in Winter.
Where to stay
Blue Mountains YHA The best of the budget mountains stays is the Blue Mountains youth hostel. Don’t worry, you won’t be bunking with six other travellers; this YHA offers private rooms fitted with ensuites. You won’t be disappointed by the vibrant atmosphere of this local gem, its cosy log fire and its close proximity to the Katoomba town centre without breaking the bank.
Parklands Country Gardens How does relaxing in a fluffy bathrobe while sipping red wine in front of a raging fireplace sound? We think it sounds pretty good! This secluded European style estate sits on 28 acres of manicured grounds in the vibrant township of Blackheath and is perfect for couples looking to relax and unwind.
Old Leura Dairy If you’re after somewhere with a bit of character you can’t go past the Old Leura Dairy. As the name suggests this whimsical property was once a dairy farm that has been lovingly restored into a luxurious sanctuary. We suggest staying in the studio; the perfect hideaway for couples including a claw foot bath, sunny courtyard and unique outdoor hot tub.
