WHAT TO DO

Lunar New Year at Scenic World
Scenic World invites visitors from near and far to celebrate Lunar New Year in the Blue Mountains from 25 January to 9 February, with a range of festivities to usher in the Year of the Rat!
The Scenic World forecourt will be a buzz as the inaugural Scenic World Jianzi Master tournament kicks off. Held daily between 11 am–2 pm, all visitors are welcome to compete and show off their Jianzi skills!
Other festivities across site include Lunar New Year special offerings at the EATS270 Restaurant and Terrace Café, and traditional ceremonial drumming at every ride. Don't forget to pick up a limited edition Year of the Rat gold coin from the retail store, to bring good fortune for the year ahead!

The Carrington Hotel's Wines of the West Festival
The 18th annual Wines of the West Festival brings together wineries from throughout the Blue Mountains and Central West, to showcase some of the best regional wines on offer. What makes this event so unique is being able to a chat with the knowledgeable winemakers in attendance about their products! Your ticket includes two day access to all the exhibiting wineries, tastings and the exclusive cellar door deals.

Leura Shakespeare Festival
Grab your picnic blanket and a delicious bottle of wine; the Leura Shakespeare Festival is back this Summer! The award-winning Sport for Jove Theatre Company has been performing some of Shakespeare's finest works at Leura's historic Everglades House & Gardens since 2010. This Summer’s season productions include Twelfth Night and Romeo & Juliet

WHERE TO EAT

Mountain Culture Beer Co
This new kid on the beer block has caused quite a buzz since opening its doors in October 2019. Blue Mountains owned and brewed, the Mountain Culture brewery deck is where the locals go to relax with a burger and beer on a sunny afternoon.

Three Sisters Chinese
You know how they say ‘eat where the locals eat’? Three Sisters Chinese may just be Katoomba's best hidden gem. You'll find this authentic eatery packed with Blue Mountains locals every night of the week, so you know it’s the goods! Some of our favourite dishes on the menu are the salt and spicy eggplant, BBQ pork and the heart-warming wonton soup.

Polar Bear
Pop in for a pizza or spend the evening devoted to the cocktail menu, either way, the Polar Bear is the place to be seen this long weekend! Tucked away off Leura Mall, this trendy yet relaxed hang out is open for both lunch and dinner. We can't go past the La Bussola or Spinach Filo pizzas, washed down with a Golden Gaye Time cocktail — for dessert of course!
