Charlie Trivers
Grounded, 2017
The artwork’s starting point is an automatic drawing with a light pencil and a dark one, a sketch book and a walk in the bush. From selected lines and shapes in the two dimensional drawing, that information is used to create three dimensional form. The forms are carved from blocks of laminated timber, the timber is reclaimed out of the firewood pile at my local timber yard and is mostly made up of Blackbutt and Scribbly Gum.
Carved recycled Australian hardwood.
