Leaves: Life in Death, 2014

Leaves are a vital part of the forests life and biodiversity.  They gather energy from the sun then fall to the ground where they decay and give their nutrients to the growing rainforest. While a leaf on the ground is technically a dead leaf, by giving up the nutrients that it has gathered from the sun it is very much a part of the living forest.

This oversized lifelike representation of decaying leaves is designed to surprise observers by its size and draw attention to the multitude of leaves on the ground and the importance of leaves to the rainforest.
