Scenic World Trade Policy
Located in the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains, Scenic World is Australia’s most visited, privately owned attraction. Just two hours from Sydney by car or train, we welcome more than one million visitors annually including both FITs and organised tour groups.
Our rides accommodate large groups – both the Scenic Railway and Cableway have capacity for 84 people; the Skyway 84 people. All rides operate approximately every 10 minutes and visitors board on a first come, first served basis. Our customer service staff are always available to assist with how to best manage your group’s visit.
ACCOUNT CUSTOMERS
Scenic World encourages regular trade customers to establish an account to process payments. To create an account please download a Scenic World Credit Application, and email the completed version to [email protected] or post to 1 Violet Street, Katoomba NSW 2780
Payment terms for customers with accounts are the same as non-account customers, however customers with accounts have the option to pay post-visit (subject to the standard terms and conditions outlined below).
Payments
All Scenic World invoicing is processed at the rack rate with group rates applicable upon payment within 14 days. Payment beyond 14 days incurs the rack rate as invoiced. These terms apply to all our travel company customers and are non-negotiable.
Prequalified travel companies who pay on the day of visit via cash, cheque or credit card will pay at the applicable group rate. Please note payment via credit card incurs a 1.5% surcharge fee. Pre-payment also qualifies for payment at the group rate for participating companies; please request to pre-pay at time of booking if required. Pre-payments must be received no less than two (2) working days before the booking date and remittance sent to [email protected]. Failure to do so will result in a delay for the group upon arrival.
FOC Policy
Scenic World has a detailed Free of Charge (FOC) policy that applies to all travel company customers.
Scenic World implements FOC policies with all companies. These are strictly enforced and all guides and drivers are expected be fully informed of all policy details.
Our FOC policy for the rides only option differs from the FOC policy for combined packages, which include rides and meals. Please download the Rides Only FOC Policy and Combined Package FOC Policy for full details.
It is a condition of FOC entry that guides/tour leaders present company identification each time they visit Scenic World to be eligible for their FOC.
These policies are in place to ensure all visitors are provided with consistently courteous, friendly and efficient service.
Ride Reservations
Ride reservations for groups of under ten (10) people are not necessary and will not be accepted nor confirmed unless pre-payment is requested. Our rides accommodate large groups with the capacity of both the Scenic Railway and Cableway at 84 people, and the Skyway at 84 people. All rides operate approximately every 10 minutes and visitors board on a first come, first served basis. Our customer service staff are always available to assist with how to best manage your group’s visit.
Ride reservations for groups larger than ten (10) pax are simply a notification of visit. This assists with planning and management of daily group visitation to Scenic World. A reservation does not change the basic first come, first served basis for loading rides.
Food & Beverage Reservations
Timed reservations for group meals at Scenic World are essential and punctuality is appreciated. Where unforeseen circumstances arise and your group cannot meet their reservation, please inform Scenic World staff as soon as possible on 02 4780 0250. All group reservations are for a period of one hour. Cancellations of Group Bookings less than 36 hours before the booked time will incur a 25% Cancellation Fee. Bookings or amendments that decrease the booked number of pax by more than 10% less than 36 hours before the booked time will incur a 25% Cancellation Fee on the original booking value.
Food & Beverage Facilities
Scenic World has two licensed dining options on site – our quick service Terrace Café and casual eatery EATS270. EATS270 is a relaxed eatery offering casual lunch options including delicious burgers, fresh wraps and seasonal specials. The café offers espresso coffee and speciality teas, bakery goods and light snacks.
Scenic World food & beverage outlets operate during opening hours and are not open in the evenings for general dining. Dietary Requirements
Scenic World caters to diverse groups of international visitors and our menus include a range of halal options and Jain meals. Please note, all menus are subject to seasonal produce availability and we recommend contacting us to pre-arrange and confirm specific group dining requirements.
The FOC policy for food & beverage options is not the same as for rides. Please review our Terms & Conditions and contact us prior to making reservations.
Scenic Walkway
The Scenic Walkway is a superb value-add inclusion to complement our three paid attractions. Groups can safely enjoy 2.4 kilometres of elevated boardwalk, immersed in the ancient rainforest of the Jamison Valley, with no danger to themselves or the pristine natural environment.
Scenic World staff can provide information to guides on how best to experience the Walkway, including the amazing native flora and occasional fauna!
Options for shorter 15 minute or 30 minute walks are available if time constraints prevent completion of the entire 50 minute loop. A 300 metre section of the Walkway is also wheelchair accessible.
Despite being outdoors, the Scenic Walkway is an excellent wet weather option for groups. Partly sheltered from rain by the natural tree canopy, the rainforest has an extraordinarily beautiful atmosphere on a wet day.
Timing Group Visits
Many of our groups arrive on day trips from Sydney, with a peak period between 11:00am and 2:00pm. We plan accordingly to ensure every group enjoys a memorable Scenic World experience.
Please note we cannot provide preference or favour one group over another – all groups are treated equally. Our exceptional customer service ensures the process of experiencing the rides is fair and smooth.
When possible, scheduling your group visits outside our peak period may result in an even more enjoyable experience for your clients.
