A blue cable car travels across a lush, forested canyon, suspended between two rocky cliffs. The blue sky and dense green offer a dramatic view of the natural landscape.

Helpful information

From last rides to how to change your booking, here are frequently asked questions to help plan your visit.

Before you get here

When are you open?

We are open every day of the year - yes, even Christmas Day and over Easter. Our opening hours vary depending on the time of the week and year. Always check session times and opening hours before you book your ticket.

Outside of school and public holidays:

Monday-Friday: 10am - 4pm

Weekend: 9am - 5pm

During NSW school and public holidays:

Everyday: 9am - 5pm

What happens if it rains?

Scenic World is an all-weather attraction. Our rides still operate in the rain. The Railway, Skyway and Cableway cabins are enclosed to provide shelter. Rain ponchos and umbrellas are available for purchase onsite.

Do you accept cash?

No, we are a cashless site. We accept most major credit cards and direct debit cards.

Can I bring a pram?

Yes!

You can take a pram or stroller on the Cableway, Skyway, and on some parts of the boardwalk in the rainforest (the Scenic Walkway).

No prams can go on the Railway - but small foldable strollers that easily fit on your lap can.

Pram access is limited on some parts of the rainforest boardwalk (the Scenic Walkway) because of steep gradients and multiple stairs.

You can also park your pram in our building while you explore.

Ask our team when you check-in about your options.

Where can I park?

We have free parking for our guests in our multi-storey carpark. More information about getting to us is here.

Can I store my luggage?

No, we do not have an area for storing baggage.
Blue Mountains Bag Storage, a separate business to us in Katoomba, offers a baggage storage service.

Tickets & bookings

Do I need to book a ticket before I arrive?

We recommend booking online in advance to get the best prices and secure your spot. This includes for Annual Passholders.

Walk-up tickets are available when sessions are not sold out outside our peak periods like school and public holidays. But because popular sessions often sell out in advance we recommend booking before you get here to avoid disappointment.

Your session time is valid for 30 minutes to give you time to arrive and check-in at the ticket box. After you check-in you can stay (and leave) as much as you like before we close.

If you are running late, please contact us.

How do I change my booking?

You can easily manage your own booking when you set up an account (either at the time of your booking or after). Click here for instructions.

Do I have to arrive at my session time?

Yes - you have a 30-minute window to arrive. This is especially important on busy days so we can make sure you have the best experience and time to enjoy the rides at your own pace.

Can I leave and re-enter on the same day?

Yes, you can! All Scenic World day passes give you unlimited rides and entry on the day before we close. Always check the website - or ask when you check in - about last rides and opening hours.

Rides

What time are the last rides?

Last ride times vary depending on factors such as the day of week, the time we close, and weather conditions. Ask about the last rides of the day when you check in.

How often do the rides depart?

All our rides leave around every 10 minutes from whichever platform you are departing from.

Can I get a one-way ticket?

No, all Scenic World passes include unlimited rides on all rides. This includes if you start your journey in the valley. Explore at your own pace and even leave and come back on the same day before close.

Are your rides wheelchair accessible?

The Cableway and Skyway cable cars are wheelchair accessible. The shortest part of the rainforest boardwalk (around 10 minutes) is also wheelchair accessible.

More information about accessibility is here.

Can I take a pram on the rides?

You can take prams and strollers on the Cableway, Skyway, and some parts of the boardwalk in the rainforest (the Scenic Walkway).

No prams can go on the Railway - but small foldable strollers that easily fit on your lap can.

Pram access is limited on the boardwalks (the Scenic Walkway) in the rainforest because of steep gradients and multiple stairs.

We have pram parking in our main building.

Ask our team when you check-in about your pram options.

Food & drinks

Do you sell food and drinks?

Yes, we do! We have a café (The Terrace Cafe) and restaurant (EATS270) which serve hot food and snacks, as well as a selection of drinks, including local beers and wines.

Pre-book your meals online when you purchase your ticket to save - simply add the number of meal-deals you'd like at the check-out.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes, we do! We have Halal, gluten free, and vegan options at our café (The Terrace Cafe) and restaurant (EATS270).

You are welcome to eat food that you bring only at the picnic table in Skyway Park. (The tables in the restaurant and our cafe are reserved for guests who have purchased food onsite).

ANNUAL PASSHOLDERS

How do I secure a session time?

Simply follow the prompts to book a ticket at the time of your choice. At the check-out add your membership number. You can also book in at the ticket box, but we always recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

If you plan to visit during the school holidays or on a public holiday, you will need to book a spot online - you will not be able to do this at the ticket box during these times.

How do I change my session time?

You can easily manage your own booking when you set up an account (either at the time of your booking or after). Click here for instructions.
